Perchance To Dream

Time stopped while she was wrapped in his arms. When the lights
went out, and Poorboy walked away, Mulder leaned closer and whispered
one word in her ear. "Stay."
She felt his lips brush the top of her head, and letting the bat
slip, she turned to face him. Stepping back to see his face, she
felt his arms tighten around her.
"Scully, don't go. I don't want this to end."
"Neither do I" she breathed. Mulder felt her body tremble; felt his
heart pounding in his chest.
"In my dreams this is what happens next." His warm breath caressed
her ear, and bowing his head, his lips touched hers. They were soft
and warm, and without a thought, she opened her mouth to him. When 
their tongues touched, the sensation was electrifying.
He wrapped her in his arms, and their bodies melted together. As
one they sank to the soft grass underneath the stars.

Author's notes: I wrote this sometime before Christmas, but had 
second thoughts about posting it. After all, I'm really 
a "reader." I've had a hard time forgetting about my little 
creation though, and with Shelba and Shoshana's support and 
encouragement, I've decided to just go ahead and post it. I would 
like to thank both Shelba and Shoshana for their great beta services 
and all-around handholding.
